Speck
Ike picked a dandelion for me at school today. I told him to hold onto it until we got home.
A few minutes into the ride home I hear. "Hello? Hello?" I looked back to see him talking into the wilting flower.
Apparently he wanted to know if there was a speck on the flower that holds life. (Horton Hears a Who)

Babies are High Maintenance
We got the idea that our Noah would be a bit high maintenance the very night he arrived. I laid in the hospital bed -- not quite mobile and a bit drained from the pain of labor and all that it entails. Basically I wasn't immobile, but I was quite slow moving.
Bill laid next to me on the couch trying to catch some zzz's from the hype and commotion of the day. Our sweet bundle of perfection slept well too, so well in fact that he slept right on through filling his wee diapers up SEVEN times that night! I kept whispering to Bill, "Will you change his diaper? He pooped again." After the third or fourth time it became a bit comical and I couldn't help but smile at how funny our little man was and how high maintenance he is!
It's no different now. He's funny. He wants so much to be held. He squawks at us when we set him down. He thinks he needs to lay on Daddy's chest at night -- and nowhere else! He doesn't want to lay against my chest -- he just wants to stare at me and be talked to. Right now he's resting peacefully in the swing and what's more is that he went in it willingly! Whew! I would have gone to take a nap for the second time since he's been born, but Kate woke up as I set him down. Oh, well. Maybe next time!

One Month Old
At one month old you:
-Wear 3 month jammies!
-You stop crying if I hand you over to Daddy.
-You poop and pee and coo and cry which makes us believe, of course, that you are amazingly perfect!
-You stop crying if you hear the sound of water coming from the faucet. You know you're about to get a bath! Oh! how you love your bath!
-You get held ALL the time! Putting you down with two eager siblings makes most everywhere dangerous!
- You've brought such joy and delight to our lives!

Inner Peace . . .
I feel so much different than the pregnant girl I was a few weeks ago. There is a deep contentment and peace that has settled deep in my happy, little heart. A few weeks ago I was growing weary and becoming more cantankerous with each day that I went passed my due date. I think it was when I called the hospital and asked them if they had "kicked anyone out" so I could come in and get induced that I realized how bad my attitude needed an adjustment.
Lucky for me, Noah came the day after that phone call and I've found the girl I'm supposed to be. What a gift he is to our family! What a joy he is to hold! And, oh how he makes my heart sing! Little life is the best gift . . . and I've got three little gifts to kiss and hold. My heart is bursting with contentment and thankfulness; my home is filled with joy and laughter.

Baby Brothers are Fun!
Ike snuggled with baby Noah on the couch last night.
"Awww, Mom, he's perfect!" he said regarding his baby brother. His eyes showed some deep thinking going on in his five-year-old mind. He tilted his head and asked, "Is he God?"
~
Today I put Kate in the truck first before heading out with the other two.
Kate pointed at Noah's seat and said, "Baby Nono please!"
~
Well, I'm off to clean up the bag (quite a full bag mind you) of Cherios that Kate just dumped on the floor . . .:) Yesterday it was hot chocolate packets . . .
