Casting On

I just learned how to cast on. Thanks, You Tube!

(Now, does this look right?)

Bag Full of Goodies

Yesterday my Mom and I went on a little adventure to the knitting store (a delight to the senses if you ask me!) They had everything there imaginable and tempted my desire to make some baby items. Hmm. Considering I have terrible skills in the knitting department, we'll see what happens! However, with the help of You Tube, my Mom, the knitting Lady, and sweet Lauren, I plan on my project being successful . . . As soon as I get up enough courage to begin!

On a side note, my husband seems just as excited as I am about this project.

And he didn't say a word about how much I spent:)

Snuggly Saturday

Our sweet Kate was bouncing around all morning yesterday, but by afternoon she climbed in my lap and snuggled in. A few minutes later she asked to go to bed. Not a usual occurrence around here. So when I went in to check on her, I found a toasty little girl with a fever past one hundred and one. Poor little thing.
I rearranged the furniture and let her watch movies in her crib, but she begged to be cuddled. So we rearranged the living room furniture with the couch pushed up in front of the computer. We snuggled and watched Dora all afternoon. Ike was a sweetheart and made sure she had her vitamins and juice. He hovered over her and pushed play after each show ended.
Today she's feeling much better and we're not sure if she is contagious or not. However, no one else has signs of a bug. Thank goodness!

Dining Decor

We decorate SLOWLY around here . . .
Because there are so many other MORE important things to do:)

I dream of painting my walls robin's egg blue, popping shades of yellow, bright pink, stunning reds and perhaps some shades of orange and definitely lilac. I'd buy artsy wallpaper from Anthropologie for an added splash of unexpected. I'd collect Janet Hill's original paintings and collage them on a wall for vintage charm and artistry. I'd use sunny dishes with creative designs. Not a hint of my home, not one nook or cranny, would be left out. This may be why I enjoy Anna Maria Horner's home (via blog) where not a trash can is ordinary. Someday I might be brave enough . . . . . Someday! For now we'll have a soft, mellow pallet complimented with all shades of white and cream, another favorite style of mine.

Craft

I found a fun little blog today and discovered a cereal box village. I think I'll make some and have the kids paint them for an Advent activity this Christmas. If you scroll down a ways (12/3/09) it's on this blog: www.belladia.typepad.com. I think my kids will get a kick out of it and I'll get to enjoy a handmade Christmas village:) If your kids are a bit older than mine, they would probably enjoy making their own.

Ike's First Day of First Grade

I think Kate was a little more excited that Isaac.
