Babies are High Maintenance

We got the idea that our Noah would be a bit high maintenance the very night he arrived. I laid in the hospital bed -- not quite mobile and a bit drained from the pain of labor and all that it entails. Basically I wasn't immobile, but I was quite slow moving.

Bill laid next to me on the couch trying to catch some zzz's from the hype and commotion of the day. Our sweet bundle of perfection slept well too, so well in fact that he slept right on through filling his wee diapers up SEVEN times that night! I kept whispering to Bill, "Will you change his diaper? He pooped again." After the third or fourth time it became a bit comical and I couldn't help but smile at how funny our little man was and how high maintenance he is!

It's no different now. He's funny. He wants so much to be held. He squawks at us when we set him down. He thinks he needs to lay on Daddy's chest at night -- and nowhere else! He doesn't want to lay against my chest -- he just wants to stare at me and be talked to. Right now he's resting peacefully in the swing and what's more is that he went in it willingly! Whew! I would have gone to take a nap for the second time since he's been born, but Kate woke up as I set him down. Oh, well. Maybe next time!

Nicole, if you come over, I would never nap! I like the adult interaction too much. I would love for our little girls to become good friends . . . We'll have to do a tea party for them soon:)
